- Fabulous bloomer with a dwarf habit
- Large mop-head blooms
- Pink flowers fade to greenish-brown in fall
Height: 2-4 Feet
Spread: 3-4 Feet
Zone: 5-9
Color: Blue, Pink
Interesting Notes about Bigleaf Hydrangea:
In high pH soils, flowers will be pink rather than blue. This is tied to the availability of aluminum in the soil (less availalbe in high pH soil - almost all of Kansas), which is needed to develop the blue pigment. Treatments to change flower color must be applied well before flower development.
