This is one of the most stunning maples and perfect for any size landscape. Though it is very slow-growing and late to leaf out in the spring, it is definitely worth the wait.

Interesting Notes about Paperbark Maple:

A maple native to China and gaining in popularity in the U.S., this tree is not commonly available and considered a real find due to its many ornamental attributes.  It is very hardy, but the seed is sterile so propagation is done by cuttings which is also challenging. The open, rounded form of this tree and the fact that it is not excessively large allows for its use as a shade tree in smaller landscapes. This tree prefers a location as an understory in partial sun situations and prefers moist, well-drained soils.
