Interesting Notes about Amur Corktree:
This tree, though non-native, has made itself at home in some areas of the U.S. The species have separate male and female flowers and produce seedlings freely when both are present. The male cultivar retains the natural beauty of the habit, leaves and bark while eliminating the risk of seedlings from the female tree. The male tree is not sterile and can still pollinate female trees if present. Amur Corktree prefers moist, well-drained soils, but once established can tolerate short periods of drought.
