Tulip tree is weak wooded and will create litter from some falling branches. May require regular pruning to reduce competition and to remove dead wood. Tulip tree ia very easy to grow and adapts to most conditions. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer.

This shade tree is a fast-growing ornamental with unusual, attractive flowers and variegated leaves.

Interesting Notes about Tulip tree:

The tulip tree has lots of history starting with explorers as far back as 1612. Popularity was mainly due to the tree as a resource to construct canoes and structures, and in general, it was a tree that would improve the lives of settlers and native Americans. Today it is still used as lumber but it is also recognized as a beautiful addition to the landscape and for the same reasons as the settlers: it grows fast, as much as 2' per year.
