Interesting Notes about Cottonwood:
Native tree with separate male and female trees producing loads of cottony seeds that blow with the wind, almost like snow, but occuring in the summer not winter. These seeds do produce seedlings and ultimately trees so best not grown in suburban, only urban areas. Plant male (cottonless) types. This is a fast growing tree and generally shortlived. Prefers moist soil.
