Verbena annuals love the sun and will perform in the heat and humidity of the summer.  Verbena will tolerate periods of drought, but it is best if the plant is not allowed to dry out.  If growing in lower light conditions the plant will bloom poorly and the plant becomes more susceptible to powdery mildew.
