This is an attractive shrub especially in the fall when the huge supply of purple-red fruit appear.

Interesting Notes about Indiancurrant Coralberry:

While this shrub is hardy and not particularly demanding, it does have some questionable attributes.  The berries may be harmful to humans and small animals plus it does require lots of space to grow because of its suckering habit.  It does however, provide shelter to wildlife and its flowers do attract butterflies and moths.  Due to its spreading nature it is excellent for erosion control.
