Interesting Notes about Clove Currant:
This shrub is a rare find, but is suitable for difficult sites and should be used in informal situations. The upright-arching habit does get a little untidy looking, but the fragrant flowers, fruit and attractive foliage gives great ornamental value to the naturalized landscape. Some states ban the sale of this shrub because it hosts a rust disease that threatens White Pine, although this is not a problem in Kansas.
