Interesting Notes about Shrub Rose:
Shrub roses are popular for both their beauty and because they are easy to grow. They are also very hardy which is ideal for the northern gardens where hybrid teas and floribundas are risky to grow. The flowers are either single, semi-double or double and the fragrance varies per variety. Rose hips on the shrub roses are almost as beautiful as the flowers themselves and will vary in size and color. The shrub rose is more rugged and will withstand drought as long as the soil is well-drained and the pH is balanced. Shrub roses prefer full sun, but will take limited shade.
