Interesting Notes about Japanese Garden Juniper:

Junipers are popular evergreen shrubs and trees because there are many different shapes to fit many landscape uses, plus they are very resistant to deer damage. They tolerate heavy clay soils, pollution, and some dry periods once they're established. However they absolutely don't like being in a spot that stays wet. The young foliage is prickly but softens to the touch as it gets older. This ground cover type will hug the ground or it can be trained on a stake to grow as a topiary.
