Interesting Notes about Spreading Yew:

These evergreen shrubs are popular for house foundation plantings because they are durable and tolerant of either sun or shade. They come in a variety of forms, i.e. spreading, upright, rounded and the sizes available will fit just about every purpose.  Most varieties have dark green, somewhat succulent needles. The plants are either male or female where the male produces white flowers that shed pollen and the female produces red fruit. Yews require well-drained soil. Almost all parts of this plant are poisonous.
